Komodo Dive Safari
Komodo can be dived land-based, but the best sites — Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Manta Alley in the south — require a liveaboard. Typically 7 or 10 nights from Labuan Bajo.

About this route
Departs from Labuan Bajo in eastern Flores. The 7-night route covers the main area (Komodo-Rinca central park); the 10-night adds Sangeang volcano, and some routes add Alor or the Banda Sea.
A typical day: dive 07:30, dive 11:30, lunch, dive 14:30, night dive 18:00. Two dive guides per 8 guests is standard with quality operators.
Season
April to November. Manta season peaks April–June and again in October. January–February is monsoon with heavy rain and weak visibility.
What to know
- Price range: 38–42,000 SEK (Mermaid, Wellenreng) up to 70,000+ for luxury (Dune, Damai).
- Pack a 5 mm wetsuit — south of the park is 22 °C versus 28 °C in the north.
- Reef hooks are required. SMB in every BCD.
- A dragon walk on Rinca or Komodo Island is almost always built into the program for half a day.
Good fit if you
Have 40+ dives, want variety (current, macro, manta, wreck), and don’t mind mixing diving with a short land activity.
Skip if you
Under 30 dives, or after the most untouched diving — go to Raja Ampat instead.
